Following the recent official circular from the Archdiocese of Lilongwe announcing major clergy transfers, Maula Cathedral Parish has officially welcomed Rev. Fr. Kelvin Peter Makina as its new Assistant Priest.

The announcement was shared with parishioners on Sunday, 02nd August 2026, to update the lay faithful on the updated pastoral team serving the cathedral community.
With the arrival of Fr. Makina—who also serves as the Archbishop’s Secretary—Maula Cathedral now officially has three designated priests assigned to shepherd the parish:
Fr. Francis Lekaleka – Parish Priest
Fr. Peter Makina – Assistant Priest
Fr. Anselm – Assistant Priest
The parish leadership expressed excitement over the new appointment and reassured parishioners that all three priests are available to serve the community.
Members of the lay faithful are encouraged to feel free to reach out to any of the designated priests for sacraments, pastoral counselling, and other spiritual services.
