Following a high-profile Archdiocesan Thanksgiving Mass and Fundraising event at St. Kizito’s Parish (Chigoneka), the Chairperson of the Maula Parish Catholic Men Association (CMA), Mr. Steve Chipala, has issued a rallying call to the CMA members to renew their commitment to the Church.
Speaking on Saturday, January 31, 2026, Mr. Chipala urged men to move beyond excuses and become active participants in the mission of the Church.
The call followed a fundraising mass for the Archdiocese of Lilongwe, presided over by Auxiliary Bishop Vincent Mwakhwawa.
During the Eucharistic celebration, Bishop Mwakhwawa challenged the men to reflect on their legacy as the Catholic Church in Malawi prepares to celebrate 125 years of existence. He emphasized that a proactive laity is essential for the future of the faith.

Echoing the Bishop’s sentiments, Mr. Chipala noted that spiritual growth requires physical presence and active service.
"It is often disappointing to see many men staying away from church activities, citing busy schedules. Let us, my fellow men, continue to participate in church activities to build the church of the future," Chipala stated.
Mr. Chipala expressed optimism that the Bishop’s message would serve as a turning point, inspiring men across the parish and the wider Archdiocese to deepen their relationship with God and take up their rightful roles as pillars of the Christian community.
The Eucharistic celebration serves as a key mobilization effort to source funds for this year’s National Annual General Meeting (AGM). The Archdiocese of Lilongwe is set to host the AGM this March, and the funds raised will ensure the event meets the required standards.
