On March 25, 2026, the Catholic Church worldwide celebrated the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord, commemorating the moment the Angel Gabriel announced to the Virgin Mary that she would conceive Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit. Occurring exactly nine months before Christmas, this feast highlights the mystery of the Incarnation and Mary’s profound “yes” to God’s will.
In the Archdiocese of Lilongwe, the day held special significance for the Legionaries of Mary from Our Lady of Africa—Maula Cathedral.

Together with fellow Legionaries from across the Archdiocese, they gathered at **St. Anthony’s Parish in Area 25 to celebrate the Legio Acies, the annual event during which members publicly renew their Legion Promise to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The celebration was marked by a spirit of unity, devotion and renewed commitment to service. Legionaries expressed joy and gratitude as they honored Mary, the mother and model of faith. The day was filled with love, fellowship and a deepened dedication to living out their mission within the Church.
